And thus ended wreath season....

Tonight we finished up the last 4 wreaths we had ordered for the season, and it's a good thing because there is next to nothing left in the wreath making supplies at any of the craft stores.  It's been really fun, but I'm glad to see the pile of unfinished wreaths gone now.  I don't know that we'll ever get all of the glitter out of our carpet though.  After making 20 or so wreaths and nearly severing my own finger (ok, that was really just for dramatic effect....really it was just a cut) we are officially retired for the season.  I'll leave you with what is probably one of my favorite wreaths of the whole bunch.  We made it for a lady whose husband and son are both serving in Iraq.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Chocolate.....

Don't think that by asking for a chocolate wreath you'll stump us.....

Funnies from the Festival of Trees...

We went to the Festival of Trees last night and saw just about a bazillion trees, but there were a couple that stood out in particular.  First of all we encountered a tree titled "Barbie's Winter Ball"  It had tons of Barbies decked out in their finest attire hopping in their 1 horse open sleighs and heading out to the open air disco.  I didn't get a pic of it, but apparently one of the Barbies had a hard time finding a Ken so she brought Aladdin instead.  Upon arriving at the ball it appears that a few couples hit the spiked punch one time too many because they passed out on the dance floor.  If you look closely you can see the culprits spiking another batch at the buffet table while some of the other lush Kens and Barbies wait to partake and tattle tale Barbie pointing them out to the rest of the group.

We also ran into an old friend at the festival.....or at least an effigy of an old friend.  Kind of reminded me of this guy.

*editors note....someone has maliciously questioned my character and asked if I staged the Barbie picture.  Clearly they have not been to the Festival of Trees or they would know that there are nazi relief society ladies guarding the trees so I would not have the opportunity to create such a scene had I wanted to.  However to clear my name I will emphatically say, I did not.  Cross my heart and hope to die, that's exactly how it was when we came upon it.

No clever title...just more wreaths....and a joke....

Here are the two latest creations....

And for the joke, one of our Primary girls told us this last week and I still can't stop laughing about it (sorry if you already read this on fb):

Tasi: Why did the man cross the road?
Me: I don't know, why?
Tasi: To get the Chinese newspaper.
Me: Um....ok.
Tasi: You don't get it do you?
Me: Nope I don't.
Tasi: Me either, I get the Daily Herald

Admit it....you laughed.

New hobby....

Hello Everyone!

I know...long time no blog.  I don't really have an excuse except that I just haven't sat down to blog about anything.  However, this weekend i made a trip to the Hobby Lobby (which coincidentally is like my favorite place ever now) and got myself addicted to a new hobby.  What is this hobby you ask?  Well at the risk of this getting picked up on the RS radar, Natalie and I have been crafty and started making wreaths.  It all came about because we found these awesome peacock feathers and peacock ribbon, and decided that it would be fun to make a wreath for her sister (her last name is Peacock) and the rest is history.  We've got quite a few people asking for them now!  So, that being said here is a small sampling of what we've done.  I do have to throw a disclaimer out there if anyone does want one though.  Unfortunately these are pretty much one of a kind deals because we didn't think we would be making more than one of each, but if there is something you like we can try to come as close to it as possible. If you have something in mind let me know and we'll turn on the creative juices and make whatever you want!

As much as it pains me.....

.......to push Josh out of the top spot on the blog I had to post something new to calm my raging fans who are hungry for new posts.  Unfortunately I only have time for a quick one today, but there will be more coming soon as I have lots of Spork pictures from this summer.  Ok, on to the actual post........

Last night we ventured up to the State Fair.  Looked at a few animals, scored myself a sweet deal on some fake Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses (because I left mine at home), walked through the 4-H house and reminisced about how I cheated in the 4-H baking contest when I was 12 and won with a Krusteaz muffin mix, and then headed over to 'creative arts' where we found this beauty.

At first glance you think....oh a stuffed deer...how nice....but upon closer examination you realize it's only half a stuffed deer.  Am I the only one who finds that disturbing?  Those of you who know me, know that I don't have a problem with taxidermied animals (for those who don't, I grew up with a stuffed turkey greeting me outside my bedroom door each and every morning and a ginormous elk staring down anyone who entered our front door) but somehow half of an animal laying on pseudo snow with a rock where his butt should be gives me the willies. It's like he's the swish-plop deer.  (If anyone besides my family gets that, then you're super cool and you probably nearly peed your pants around a campfire as a child just like I did.)    Anyway, that's all I have time for this morning, so until next time Stumpy the deer and I bid you adieu.

Best.Night.Ever.

The title says it all.  Last Thursday Natalie and I ventured north to Layton to see the incredible Josh Turner.  It was simply the most amazingly awesome show ever.  Not only did we have killer seats (as you'll see from the videos below) but we actually got to meet Josh in person.  I know what you are all thinking....and yes....he is just as hot in person...hotter even....and he smelled so goooooooooooooooood.  I even scored a little hug...yay me!!!!!   Enjoy the photos and videos and feel free to swoon!

Some of the many many photos we took that night

And last but not least some low quality videos!  (I apologize if you hear me singing along...I just can't help myself!)

*Sigh*  I wish I could do it all over again this week!

Things seen at the Tim McGraw concert this weekend:

3 hours of traffic to travel about 20 blocks thus resulting in missing the first two acts of the show....grrrrr.

Copious amounts of beer being consumed.

Some of that beer being dumped upon me and/or my blanket....gag.

A crazy drunken woman dancing around with a popcorn bucket on her head.

Said popcorn bucket later being used as a barf receptacle.

Woman throwing various articles of undergarments around in our general vicinity.  (Keep in mind we were NO WHERE near the stage)

Multiple instances of full frontal female flashing (again....no where near the stage)

A drunken redneck brawl in the parking lot which we almost got caught in the middle of.

And probably the most entertaining of all (aside from Tim of course who put on a great show) was the dude in the parking lot after the concert suddenly jumping out of his car and proceeding to do the entire the thriller dance as he pranced around the parking lot......and then proceeding to try to pull me out of the car to dance with him.  After thriller was done he continued to entertain the crowd with several other Michael Jackson hits.  I wish I had pictures of it because it was truly epic.

Fly like an eagle...

Hello!  Long time no see!  Ok, so I'm a slacker and haven't posted anything on the blog in a while.  Don't worry there are some spork adventures that I just need to take the time to sit down and blog about, but since many of my legion of readers (aka 2 of the 3 of you) have bugged me to post something, here I am.  We were feeling crafty/creative at our house tonight so we put our little heads together and created a little 4th of July treat for Natalie's office party.  Behold the masterpieces!!!!!

We made a whole flock of eagles!!!!! (Not to be confused with Flock of Seagulls) Which is kind of ironic, because those of you who know me, know that a flock of bald eagles would be my worst nightmare.

This one has been giving me the eye all night......

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!!

It's not spork...but it's still funny.....

What did you do this weekend?  I got to spend it with some hilarious little kids playing wii....my stomach muscles still hurt from laughing....

The quality on these videos is sucky, and I can't figure out how to rotate the picture on the last one, but if you can stand the crappy picture take a look!
