A little song for your entertainment....

The ballad of Labor Day
(sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies theme)

Come listen to a story of a big blue tent.  It got packed in the car and off to the lake it went.  The tent went up and the beds went in, and that my friends, is where the fun begins.
Labor Day, camping, Palisades.
(not actual tent, but it looks like this...trust me)

We opened up the door when we had to use the loo, and to our surprise we found a gnome with a hat of blue.  He was cute and he was funny but we weren't really sure, just what the heck he was there for.

Roaming that is, bearded, outside the tent.

Well we discovered that the gnome was a project for a class, pictures captured every hour by a photo taking lass. When the clock hit the time for the picture to be took, the lass was missing so we went to go look.

In the lake that is, rubber raft, shipwrecked.
Well we laughed about the raft, till everyone was sick, watching Ali and Jennie do a doggy paddle kick.  Then family secrets were revealed that others said were old, but it was new and funny to those who were never told.
About Granny that is, pill bottles, radish seeds.

There were tent pegs in feet because Nat’s a hillbilly, then she got into her bed and got stung by a huge bee. But the best fun of all was to be had the next 2 nights thanks to a guest dressed all in black and white.
A skunk that is, smelly, not a cat.
(also not actual skunk....I wasn't getting that close)
The skunk ate our trash and tried to get in the tent, but he couldn’t find a hole so off into the night he went.  He came back the next night and he worked his way right in, then he poked his little nose around until he found din din.
Muffins that is, chocolate, not poppy seed.
(he nibbled the rest, but ate a ton of the chocolate...smart skunk)
Now the trip is over and we had lots of fun, even if we did get just a little too much sun.  Come back next September and you’ll be sure to hear, all of the adventures that wait for us next year.
Oh that's gonna peel, back to work tomorrow, so long summer!
